1. Introduction

MyFoodOracle is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights and choices. By using MyFoodOracle you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly including:

• Name and email address
• Password stored encrypted
• Age range
• Health context selections such as perimenopause, postpartum, or breastfeeding
• Goal selection
• Food log entries
• Journal entries
• Habit data
• Weight and measurement data if provided
• Progress photos if provided
• Cycle tracking data if you opt in

We collect information automatically including app usage patterns, feature engagement frequency, device type, and general location at city level only for restaurant recommendations which is never stored. We do not collect precise GPS location data. We do not access your contacts, camera roll, or microphone except when you actively use those features within the app.

We also collect certain information automatically through third-party analytics and advertising tools installed on our website, including the Meta Pixel. This may include your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and time spent on our site. See Section 4a for more details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the MyFoodOracle service and personalize your experience
• Generate AI-powered behavioral insights and recommendations specific to you
• Send you behavioral nudges and notifications based on your patterns
• Improve the app and develop new features
• Understand how visitors interact with our website in order to improve it and serve relevant advertising to past visitors on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram
• In anonymized and aggregated form to conduct research and generate business insights that may be shared with or licensed to third parties

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with the following service providers who help us operate the app:

• Firebase and Google Cloud for data storage and authentication
• Stripe for payment processing
• Anthropic for AI-powered features
• Railway for server hosting
• Resend for transactional email delivery
• Mailchimp for account and plan-related communications to coaches
• Rewardful for affiliate referral tracking

If you are a client of a coach on MyFoodOracle, your coach receives only aggregate anonymized data about their client cohort. They never receive your individual data, your personal information, or your health information, unless you have separately and explicitly opted in to share a limited weekly summary with that specific coach. Full detail on what that summary can and cannot include is available in our Data Sharing Policy.

4a. Meta Pixel

Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a piece of code provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. This pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, understand how visitors use our website, and show relevant MyFoodOracle advertising to past website visitors on Facebook and Instagram.

The Meta Pixel collects the following data when you visit our website:

• URL and referrer URL of pages visited
• IP address
• Device and browser type
• Timestamp of visit
• Actions taken on our site, such as which pages you view

This data is used to measure the effectiveness of our website and advertising, and to show relevant MyFoodOracle advertising to past website visitors on Facebook and Instagram. We do not use this data to identify you personally and we do not combine it with your MyFoodOracle account data.

Meta acts as an independent data controller for data collected through the Meta Pixel and processes it in accordance with its own data policy, which you can review at facebook.com/policy.php.

5. Your Data Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access your personal data at any time through your account settings
• Correct inaccurate data through your profile settings
• Delete your account and personal data through Settings → Account. Requesting deletion immediately cancels any active subscription and begins a 30-day grace period during which your account is restricted but can be fully reactivated if you change your mind. If the grace period passes without reactivation, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted
• Opt out of anonymized data use for research through Settings → Account → Data Preferences → Contribute to anonymized research
• Opt out of AI-powered personalization through Settings → Account → Data Preferences → Personalized behavioral insights. Note that disabling this means the app cannot learn your patterns and your experience will be generic rather than personalized
• Opt out of Meta Pixel tracking through your Facebook account under Ad Preferences, or through the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool at optout.aboutads.info

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authenticated users and authorised personnel. We use Firebase Security Rules to ensure you can only access your own data. Progress photos are stored with private access controls and are never accessible to other members or to coaches.

7. Children's Privacy

MyFoodOracle is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

8. Cycle and Health Data

Broader health context information, such as perimenopause, postpartum, or breastfeeding status, is used to personalize your experience the same way, and is never shared individually with a coach or any third party. If you have opted in to contribute to anonymized research, this broader health context may be included in aggregate research findings, but only as part of a group of at least 20 other consenting clients sharing that same context, never in a smaller group where it could make you identifiable. You can opt out of this at any time in Settings, under Account, in the Data Preferences section.

9. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act including:

• The right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
• The right to delete your personal information
• The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information.
• The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app and by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
